Aeoline

The Aeoline register in a pipe organ is a type of string stop that produces a soft, flute-like tone. It is characterized by its warm and gentle timbre, which is achieved through the use of narrow, conical pipes with a smooth, tapered scale. The pipes of the Aeoline are typically made of wood and are constructed to produce harmonically rich sounds with a slightly nasal quality. This register is often found in the expressive division of the organ and can add a delicate, ethereal quality to the instrument's overall tonal palette.
